Graphtec Vinyl Cutter Certification Class

DETAILS
TinkerMill has a Graphtec CE6000 cutter / plotter available for use in the Rapid Prototyping Shop. This class provides the certification training required for unsupervised use of the equipment.
It is fun and easy to use the CE6000 to cut vinyl and other thin films for use as stickers, signs, stencils, etc. The cutter works with a variety of vinyl films, such as indoor and outdoor vinyl for signs, heat transfer vinyl for T-shirts, stencil and paint masking vinyl, glass etching vinyl, etc. The CE6000 can also be used to plot line drawings on paper for use as signs, sewing patterns, etc.
Note: This cutter cannot print on the vinyl, so it is not suitable for producing full color stickers. Nor can it be used to cut through the vinyl backing to create the equivalent of die cut stickers.
Topics covered in this class include:
Identification of parts of the equipment
Using the control panel
Media loading
Calibrating and loading the pen tool
Loading the blade tool and setting the blade depth
Using the Graphtec Studio software to send designs
Plotting a design on paper
Cutting a design on vinyl
Weeding the design
Using application tape to transfer the design
No prior experience is needed.
