In this class you will continue to build your sampler project and begin using the powered tools that reside in the shop. We will cover safe practices, proper tool use and light maintenance of the tools. You will use each of the four tools at some point in the process of building your project. The four tools are: Flex shaft, Drill Press, Belt and Disc Sander, and A Bench buffing wheel. There are two other powered tools included in the demonstrations that you are welcome to include in your project but are not required for certification purposes. These are the bench mill and scroll saw for metal.

The instructor will:

 • Review acceptable materials and project examples

 • Provide additional self-study resources

 • Provide instruction on tools, safety and usage

 • Supervise hands-on trials and your completion of the Sampler project required for certification

                                       The Attendee will:

*Review safety material, and utilize proper PPE while working in the shop

*Demonstrate safe use of the machines through initial practice and utilizing the equipment in the construction of their project.

*Wear proper attire, shop appropriate clothing is covered in Metals 100-101 and prior to that class through the link.
